TalTech Startup Fair (December 12, 2024)
Visited the local Startup Career Fair at TalTech (Mektory Week) to see what is active. Some startups even use AI.
Volton Energy - smart electric monitoring IoT to save energy costs. Interesting stuff, especially for me tinkering with IoT for beehives. Personally I used HomeKit, but it may be overwhelming for regular folk, so Volton could help regular households monitor and cut down bills. Related startups in this field - VOOL.
Amiqa.io - a hotel automation service. Dynamic pricing, AI-assisted monitoring of consumer feedback. I suppose big hotels, hospitality companies or Bob W. can manage on their own, but small hotels could benefit from such a smart tool.
Cyborgs - helps companies train their staff using interactive scenarios (pitched by Ilya Vasilyev), also an edtech hackathon winner. I think there is still some discovery going on, but this could help tech leads and HR do tailor-made and engaging training for teams. Related - Coursy.io, Clarified Security OÜ.
Thesis - a platform for value investors (pitched by Demid Ost). As an investor, I did try and did lose money on individual stocks (come on Tuya Smart, grow already), so some platform that can collect and process all of the metrics and present them for investor analysis for his investment thesis would surely help. Related - Lightyear.
Also caught a PROTO Day 2024 student project on a smart desk (PROJEKT01) - neat hardware tinkering vibe next to the startup pitches.
