Mindstone Tallinn September AI Meetup (September 30, 2025)

Attended local AI meetup organized by Amna Ahsan. https://lnkd.in/dPJGqyZF

Got to listen to two practical speeches and a panel.

What I Learned Building With LLMs

A technical demo breaking down the process for building a product using AI with real-life learnings and insights.

Stefano Piano from Mindstone shared how he uses Claude as a personal assistant. Specifically how he uses Superwhisper as audio input, how MCP servers are extending its capabilities with an example of Google Calendar MCP providing calendar data and Notion MCP providing notes.

Personally I used Notion too and it is great, but I transitioned to Obsidian because I want to fully own my data and have it interchangeable. I also use Superwhisper and Notion but in free tiers for now. Both can do audio notes and I really want to use that but much cheaper than their plans.

With MCPs I think the limitations are currently:

  • security (config is open and you don't know fully what MCP server is doing)
  • ease of installation (it is too hard for non-techies)
  • hidden context impact
  • fragmentation (too many tools and MCPs)

How To Be More Productive Using AI

A practical demo and step-by-step guide on how to use AI to speed up and improve tasks.

Bora Buyukdoluca from Waybiller shared how he uses custom ChatGPT to take Postgres information schema, build custom SQL, execute it and visualize data for reporting. Reminds me of Supersimple, AWS Q agent, Databricks or even us at Clarifai.

I think this kind of human-language data analytics is great, it makes reasoning about raw data by humans much more manageable. I am building something similar in Gratheon for beekeepers - you query information about historical state of your bees and get suggestions what should be changed.

What Does The Future Look Like With AI?

A theoretical talk on the impact of AI on work, life and society.

Lastly the panel, now also with Raido Pikkar, was more high-level and visionary. Included questions about future of AI, AGI, impact on work, society, education (Natasha Bychkova), economy, universal basic income (and hopes that Estonia will be the first one to implement that).
