MetaMask Community Builder Night (May 20, 2026)

Visited a web3/crypto event by MetaMask / Francesco Andreoli - Community Builder Night at Vektor in Tallinn.

We had Robert Pallas talk about Miracap. Some things I remembered:

  • he gave away some bitcoin early in the days and wishes he didn't
  • he wanted to tokenize everything, but wishes he thought about legal aspects first
  • Estonia is great for crypto in terms of legal because of ownership transfer of tokens (not to mix with AI tokens :D)
  • with Miracap, he wants to tokenize private stock options with those willing to buy it (imagine owning early Anthropic options)

Then we had a panel with Uve Poom, Alex Novozhenov, Misha Kaplin.

I think they mentioned SWIFT vs DeFi, passing payment information. Anyway, I was mostly interested in crypto payments here. Maybe Nodu could be useful.

Here we got a heated audience question about what good DeFi/crypto/blockchain gave to the world if everything is doable with a traditional approach. Evgeniya Slinko stepped up defending the decentralized way.

Then we had a panel with Krete Paal questioning Raido Saar and Shirly Valge about trust, identity, AI fakes, compliance, GDPR, AI act. Raido does not like cookies, reactive legislature and fake equality.

Shirly seems to be tied to logos.co - an experimental open-source modular stack and social movement for building privacy-preserving, censorship-resistant decentralized applications using integrated blockchain, messaging, storage, and p2p networking components. (seems like a lot of sophistication there with 130 C++ and Rust repos)

I was questioning if a social network and PageRank-like approach could be a way to have a bottom-up trust building mechanism.

I'm not a big crypto fan (mostly because AI overtook the hype train) but I do want to add some crypto payment option to A2gent so that agents could pay with that instead of relying on Stripe/fiat.

Heard some interesting things like arc.io, hyperliquid and ERC-8004 standard for autonomous AI agents. The Vektor building location was also nice - advertised at about ~130 eur/mo per seat in this coworking space, so check it out if you are looking for that.
